What this policy covers
This policy covers emeraldbearmedia.com and the enquiries made through it.
It does not cover content platforms we operate on behalf of a partner or operator. Those are governed by the agreement with that partner and by the policies of the environment they run in. If you are a user of a deployed service rather than a visitor to this site, the operator of that service is your point of contact.
What we collect
Two things, and no more than we need for each.
- Enquiry details
- The name, organisation, business email address, inquiry type and message you submit through the contact form, plus job title and website if you choose to give them. We keep this so we can answer you and so we have a record of what was discussed.
- Aggregate site usage
- Which pages are visited and how people move through the site, used to decide what to improve. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share this with data brokers.
What we do with it
Enquiry details are used to respond to you and to maintain a record of the relationship. If a conversation leads to an agreement, the relevant details become part of the commercial record for that agreement.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with third parties except where it is necessary to deliver something you have asked for, or where we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Records connected to an agreement are kept for as long as the agreement requires, plus the retention period our tax and audit obligations impose.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we have no continuing obligation to keep it. Write to us through the contact page and say what you want; we will confirm what we have done.
Security
Enquiry data is held on systems we control, with access limited to the people who need it. Submissions are validated and rate limited on the server, and are stored outside the public web root. We do not hold payment card details on this site.
